1. Description of Service

Welcome to OloTree (olotree.com). These Terms govern your use of the OloTree mobile app, admin console and website (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them.

The Service lets schools and families share:

• a school diary of homework and class activities, with photos, comments and seen / done status;
• per-class exam schedules;
• announcements and a shared school calendar;
• class, section, subject and staff management, reports, school hours and homework-budget settings.

2. Accounts and Roles

• Principalsregister their school (which we review before it goes live — see below), become its first principal, invite school admins and teachers, and are responsible for the school's use of the Service.
• School admins and teachers join by invitation and act only within the school and classes they are assigned to.
• Parents and guardians create their own account, create profiles for their children and join a class with a private invite link or code.
• You must give accurate information and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account and should tell us at once if you suspect misuse.

3. School Registration and Approval

• Registering a school is a request, not an automatic sign-up. We review each request and our contact person may get in touch with you. You can sign in only once the school has been approved.
• We may decline a registration, and we are not required to give a reason.
• If a registration is declined, the email address and phone number used for it cannot be used to register a school again, and a later attempt is recorded. If you believe we made a mistake, write to hello@olotree.com and we will review it; we may lift the restriction.
• You confirm that the details you submit are accurate and that you are authorised to register the school.

4. Children and Parental Consent

Children do not have their own accounts. A parent or guardian (or the school) creates a child's profile and, by doing so, confirms they are entitled to do so and consents to the child's information being used as described in our Privacy Policy. Parents can have a child's data erased at any time by deleting the profile or their account.

5. School Responsibilities

• The school (through its principal) is responsible for who it invites, for the accuracy of class and student information, and for having the right to share the content its staff post.
• Staff must post only content appropriate to the school and its families, and only about their own classes.
• A school may set quiet hours and homework limits. These are guidance for wellbeing and do not change the school's own policies.

6. Your Content

You and your school keep ownership of the content you post (diary entries, photos, comments, announcements, schedules). You give OloTree the limited permission needed to store it, show it to the right people and run the Service — nothing more. We do not use it for advertising or sell it.

You confirm you have the right to post the content you upload, and that it does not infringe anyone's rights.

7. Our Property

The OloTree name, logo, software, design and original material belong to OloTree. You may not copy, resell or reverse-engineer the Service.

8. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the Service:

• to post unlawful, abusive, harassing or inappropriate content, or content that endangers a child;
• to access another person's account or data, or another school's information;
• to upload malicious code or try to bypass or disrupt the Service's security;
• to collect or scrape data about children or families, or to use it for advertising.

We may suspend or remove accounts or content that break these Terms.

9. Deactivating, Deleting and Ending Use

• You can deactivate your account at any time and reactivate it by signing in again.
• You can delete your account; it is permanently erased after a 30-day grace period during which you can cancel by signing in.
• A principal can deactivate or delete the school. Deleting a school permanently erases its data after the same 30-day grace period. If the only principal of a school deletes their account, the school is deleted with it.
• Class data is deleted one month after the class's school year ends, as set out in the Privacy Policy.

10. Availability

We work to keep the Service available, and the app is designed to keep working offline, but we do not promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. Deadlines, exam dates and other school information shown in the Service are entered by the school; please confirm anything critical with the school directly.

11. Limitation of Liability

OloTree is a collaborative tool provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, OloTree is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages resulting from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. If a change is material we will give at least 30 days' notice in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new Terms.
